Weekly Report #33 Beginning of Winter

zhoubao33

This is from a singer I really like, Jeremy Zucker, who released his latest album "brent iii" in November this year.

The specific details of life are always relatively plain, but there are some surprises hidden within. They may flash in a song that resonates with your soul, in a couple of excerpts from a book, or in a video.

If an observer were to carefully examine every 0.000000...001 seconds of a person's life (assuming such a time unit exists), note that the time I mentioned can also be observed, as it is just a unit of length.

They would actually find that people do not move at all; think of the "flying arrow does not move" theory. Such work would be too boring; it would be better to leave that person aside and check back when you remember.

Such observation is interesting, so does that mean a continuous and uninterrupted life has no special interest? Only fragmented and discrete moments are worth remembering.

If a discrete life also has a minimum indivisible measurement unit, what would that be?

ps. November 7th marks the beginning of winter, and exactly twenty years ago, a person was born.

This is the preface for this week's report.

Fu Hang is amazing!#

Fu Hang's last video, watching it a second time is indeed very touching, and the judges and the audience were both crying and laughing.

When I watched it the first time, I couldn't understand why someone who looks like a "monkey" and has a slightly exaggerated performance could win the championship.

But after watching all the finalists, especially Fu Hang's previous performance, Xiao Lu's performance could be said to have some awkward moments, making Fu Hang's challenges even more apparent.

But he still completed it excellently, thanks to his outstanding text and the art of blending tragedy and comedy.

He mentioned at the beginning that this is the king of comedy, not the king of tragedy.

But in his interpretation, I can feel that tragedy and comedy are indeed one, especially when he talks about his girlfriend:

"Do you remember me saying these words?"

"Why say this, it's kind of disgusting," "But Fu Hang, you have to remember, come back early, I'm waiting for you at home."

I would call this the best text describing human emotions.

Referencing the Understanding King#

Setting aside the big picture, Trump is truly a great man. Back then, he was mocked at the White House dinner, an ordinary person pierced through Hillary. Four years ago, his halo was cut down, followed by ridicule, slander, framing, and assassination attempts. At 78, he still calls for battle after a bullet grazed him; the spirit of that generation during America's peak is vividly embodied in him. This old man becomes more resilient in adversity; living to this point, one really has no regrets.

The final voting in the U.S. election was locked at 312:226, and the Understanding King won all the swing states, unexpected yet reasonable.

People are generally saying that the Understanding King has won big this time, with the legislative, judicial, and executive powers basically in the hands of his people, he could completely ascend the throne and declare himself emperor.

This year, for some reason, I've been paying extra attention to the election, especially after Biden stepped down and Harris took over; videos related to the U.S. election have been flooding in without missing a single one.

Before the election, based on the performances of Harris and Trump, I almost unconditionally believed that the Understanding King would win (unless the Democrats pulled some tricks).

I really dislike the Democratic Party; their distorted political correctness theories are impossible to clear up. The Understanding King's return can be said to have saved America's fate (strangely, I’m so happy about this, haha, but no matter what, China will definitely be the final winner).

Recently, while reading, an author proposed a rather interesting theory:

In China, it’s basically about people, not things. Those in power, as long as they have even a hint of political black spots, basically cannot continue. It's not just officials; even ordinary people live under such pressure. Any action that seems "out of line" in the eyes of others can lead to "social death."

Living in a collective society, one inevitably has to interact with others all the time. No matter how much internet companies emphasize "dealing with things, not people," the pressure of social interaction always exists.

In contrast, in the West, it’s classic "dealing with things, not people." Presidential candidates can be sentenced; those with political black spots can still continue their political careers, and ordinary people care less about others' opinions.

Even though we in big cities are gradually evolving into an atomized individual state, the company you are in and the community you belong to are all sources of pressure.

Whenever a juicy PDF spreads in a WeChat group, I always wonder how much pressure the person behind it must bear and how strong their inner strength must be to withstand the greedy gazes of countless eyes behind it.

I digress; let's celebrate the Understanding King and bless those who bought stocks in Chuan Da Zhi Sheng, haha.

Some things worth sharing#

At 6:30 in Shenzhen, the blue sky, the remaining streetlights, and the distant spring bamboo shoots feel quite artistic.

I accidentally discovered a rearview mirror in the back seat while taking a taxi, which feels very useful. This way, every time I get out of the car, I don't have to worry about whether a car or person is coming from behind; I suggest it be popularized.

It feels like many things are like this; relying on slogans and shouting slogans is really not as useful as actual objects.

Book Sound Broadcast#

Anime:

  • "Arcane" is so good~ I regret not finishing the first season, so I need to catch up for a while.

Music:

  • Jeremy Zucker's latest album "brent iii" is highly recommended, unplugged style, guitar singing, just the right mix of male and female voices.

Podcast:

Some quoted golden sentences:

  • Why can't fallen leaves, as one of the most beautiful sceneries of autumn, be seen for a long time?
  • It's a bit funny; we live in the city yet lack sensitivity to nature, becoming increasingly "dull" haha.
  • The internet only accelerates certain trends, rather than creating them; don't let the internet take the blame.
