Attending a Wedding#

Earlier this year, I received an invitation to Wenjie’s wedding. Although we are in different departments, we have been partners in the reading club activities, and what’s even more enviable is that his love story with Deng Deng is truly romantic and beautiful.

I still remember in March, I had the honor of participating in the proposal event that Wenjie meticulously planned. The detailed arrangement and thoughtful planning made me marvel at how unique this man truly is. 😂

This was my first time experiencing a Western-style wedding in person. I had only seen such scenes in American dramas before, and I never expected to become a witness to this romantic occasion.

When Wenjie recalled the bits and pieces of his acquaintance with Deng Deng during the wedding, every detail was touching. From the first day of their relationship, to their first date, first movie, first time sharing an umbrella in the rain, first time living together, first time caring for each other when sick, first surprise of giving flowers... these ordinary moments make up the most moving chapters of their love story.

Details often touch the heart the most. I remember when they played board games for the first time, it seemed like they had endless things to talk about, that kind of tacit understanding and rhythm seemed innate. Also, to avoid disturbing Deng Deng's rest with the sound of the mouse, Wenjie even chose to set up a second workspace in the bathroom—although he could have just used a silent mouse, haha. 😂

Sincerely wishing this couple well~ May every day they spend together be filled with laughter and joy, just like this wedding.

Flatland#

Since Brother Chuan finished reading "Flatland," he has been recommending this book to everyone and has been planning to hold a reading club session. However, he has never had the opportunity, always getting sidetracked by various chaotic matters, but this time he finally caught up.

Weekends in Shenzhen always seem to go against the working class; it’s sunny during weekdays, but as soon as the weekend arrives, a typhoon comes. "This damn typhoon chooses to show up every weekend!"

When planning this reading club, we decided that if the morning weather forecast showed rain, we would move indoors. However, an hour before we started, it began to drizzle. But our group was undaunted, equipped with bamboo sticks and straw sandals, not caring too much about it.

Fortunately, the light rain stopped shortly after, and the air after the rain, the fragrance of the earth, and the lazy sunlight casting on the lawn marked the beginning of our reading club.

"Flatland" deserves the title of a "masterpiece." It’s hard to imagine that the author could construct a multi-dimensional world back in the last century. Could he really be a genius? 😂
