This is a supplementary article, as a memory of mine.
Went to Shanwei for food, fun, and birdwatching with Teacher Goat~
I first met Teacher Goat at a book sharing session, and learned about the niche hobby of birdwatching. Coincidentally, every winter, a large number of migratory birds come to Shenzhen for the season, with many seagulls and black-faced spoonbills in Shenzhen Bay, making it a paradise for birdwatching enthusiasts, haha.
Thus, I also started to get into birdwatching and photography, upgrading my equipment, haha. Following Teacher Goat's arrangements, we went to Shanwei for birdwatching, and I was delighted to see a natural gem—the Little Blue.
I must say that Teacher Goat's arrangements were very reasonable. After getting off the high-speed train, we headed straight to our accommodation, which was nearby the train station. The environment was decent, and there was a barbecue restaurant downstairs, which was hilarious.
The itinerary for the next two days was also packed. Initially planned to drive ourselves, but considering that the places we were going to were quite remote, we opted for a chartered vehicle. In hindsight, this was a very wise decision, as many roads were not suitable for inexperienced drivers.
It was my first time going out for field birdwatching, and with the newbie buff fully stacked, we spotted the colorful ibises from a distance. They were considered extinct in China for nearly 70 years, and only recently have there been sightings, earning them the nickname "the panda of birds."
This is what they originally looked like:
Of course, there were many other birds recorded, but to save on CDN, most are compressed images. Just a record for now.
